Take delight in a relaxing fish from the infamous Picnic Bay jetty and learn about sustainable practices that focus on the healthy futures of our oceans and waterways. Our instructors will teach you the basics of how to find bait, casting and correct fish handling techniques.

In this activity participants will work in groups to focus on communication, spatial awareness and group dynamics. Equipped with a map of camp, each team will hunt for check points and answer trivia questions in order to proceed to the next checkpoint

Apex Camps has created a challenging yet light-hearted program that will have groups working cohesively together to cross acid rivers, race a ball down our pipeline, guide your tank to victory and much more. Based on the Principle of TEAM "Together Everyone Achieves More", Participants will work closely to communicate and cooperate to "stay alive"

Play a variety of games and sports on the field, focus on your technique with lacrosse, plan your tactic during Pirates and Naval Officers and utilise your strength during T-Ball. This activity emphasises teamwork and competition but with the guidance of a spirit captain to ensure fair play and fun.

Participate in a range of sports and games played on the courts. we introduce you to European handball, half-court basketball, line tag, soccer-style skittle ball and more. Fell free to turn it into a competition or choose to mix the teams for every round to explore each other's strengths.

Critical and creative thinking is at the core of the catapults activity as participants work together to design and construct a functioning catapult using basic knot tying skills and logical thinking. Once each team has finished their sturdy, strong catapult masterpieces, the competitive games between teams begins.

Beach Games will foster initiative in a team environment to achieve a common goal, applying strategic thinking and communication. With short walk to the beach nearby, this is a great selection for groups travelling from inland areas.

Learn the skill of archery whilst playing a variety of energetic games. Score points by hitting players of the opposing team with your padded arrow and eliminate the players. Transform into a Bowerbird and gather blue object to bring back to your nest but be aware of the crows, they try to steal the blue treasures off you!

Carefully designed physical and mental challenges aimed at drawing out our future leaders. While learning about effective communication and decision-making skills, this activity will set the scene for leaders to shine.

Express your inner Picasso and design your own dream flyer. Kite building is the perfect opportunity for participants to creatively express themselves. Once kites are designed, assembly is easy and the group head outside to fly. The sky will be full of creation and the ground will be full of animation.

Have you ever wanted to run away with the circus? This is your chance to learn all the talents of a true circus performer - from juggling and plate spinning, to devil sticks and ribbons, try them all out before putting on a show for your peers of fine-motor skills, persistence, creativeness, and initiative.

Sure, we’ve all seen ‘Bear Grylls’ but what happens when you’re injured or stranded and your iPhone batteries die. Bush skills is a practical activity teaching participants the skills and knowledge about surviving in the bush. Our qualified survival instructors will teach you hands on activities such as fire lighting without matches, shelter construction, damper making, trapping, water collection and navigation. They will be a budding ‘Bear Grylls’ in no time!

Enjoy this high rotational activity where you get a taste of different sports and games like volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee and foam hockey. This activity focuses on team spirit and participation but can be turned into a competition for those who love winning. This activity is also suitable for larger groups.

Walk through Magnetic Island's unique wetland and watch the magpie gees bathing in the lagoon while hearing the waves rolling in behind you. This interesting walk switches on your senses when the landscape changes between a swampy lagoon with thick, dark bush and opens right up with bright, sandy dunes.

Manual navigation is a precious disappearing skill in our current the  technological world. No phones allowed in this activity, exploration will be taught the good old fashioned way. First learn to use a compass and a map, and then participants will navigate their team from point to point tracking down markers in a treasure hunt race! The key to success in this activity is clear planning and effective team communication.

2023 will bring fresh life to Apex Camps with the launch of our Sustainability Project. This activity will take students on an important journey to understand how to better care for the world around us and the positive difference resourcefulness can have on out environment. Whether you live on a farm, have a backyard, or live in an apartment, everyone can make a difference! You will look at how our worms are enriching the soil and how plants not only live in soul but also in water. List the ducks, supply the kitchen, inspect the beehive, recycle and reuse!
